Growing Practices
When you “feed” the soil with cover crops, manures and composts, you make more nutrients available to the plants and need less supplementation with outside sources. You turn “dirt” into a “living soil” where plants thrive, are more disease resistant, and have longer life.
What I continue to work on is diversity growing a number of native plants to draw beneficial insects to the farm. Use different cultural practices that will work for the farms overall health such as no till in certain areas and crop rotation.
